The Macedonian passport with the previous name maybe in use in some European countries but not Germany. Diplomatic sources have told Deutsche Welle that entry in Germany is not allowed using the previous passport if the passenger comes from North Macedonia or some other country.
According to Deutsche Welle, German authorities are doing everything to facilitate the situation for Macedonian nationals who have not managed to get a passport with the constitutional name, primarily in protecting their rights, meaning they can use the previous passports for personal identification purposes in Germany but cannot enter the country unless they have the passport with the new name. This means that the previous passport can be used for travel from Germany to North Macedonia but not the other way round.
