European automobile champion Igor Stefanovski – Idze, begins a new chapter in his rich racing career. After winning European titles and numerous successes on the most famous hilly tracks, this season he will compete with a prototype car, the most powerful and prestigious class in hilly motorsports.
With this historic step, Stefanovski becomes the first Macedonian driver to compete with a prototype car in official international competitions, writing a new page for Macedonian motorsports.
“I am starting a new chapter in my career. I have been dreaming about this moment my whole life. I will be the first driver from the Balkans to compete with the Norma prototype, one of only 12 such cars produced in the world. It is an exceptionally powerful vehicle, a prototype whose technology and performance are close to Formula 1 cars. Today I am testing it at Vodno, the place where my racing story began. With this car, we are entering a new category, with extremely strong and numerous competition. I believe that we will be competitive in this class and will fight for new podiums in European hillclimb races,” said Stefanovski.
The new prototype car represents the pinnacle of engineering in hillclimb motorsport. It is designed exclusively for competition, with an ultra-light chassis, an exceptional weight-to-power ratio and aerodynamics that allow for maximum performance on the most difficult mountain tracks. Driving such a car requires top physical fitness, great experience and impeccable precision.
