A total of 11 wildfires were registered by 6 p.m. Saturday, three of which are active, and eight have been extinguished. Active fires are in the village of Belo Pole, Dolneni Municipality, where low vegetation is burning; the village of Brailovo in the same municipality, where low vegetation is burning; and the village of Gorno Lisiche, Aerodrom Municipality, where low vegetation is also burning, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said on Saturday.
The fire near the village of Chiflik in the Municipality of Sopishte, where a pine forest was burning, has also been extinguished, and the three “air tractors” of the Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) were used to extinguish it.
Active fires are reported near Brnjarci in Arachinovo and in Volkovo, Gjorche Petrov, while fires in Banjica, Bidzevo, Senakos and at the Delchevo landfill have been extinguished. A major fire broke out Friday in the municipality of Novaci, burning a large area of flatland. The blaze was brought under control and extinguished with the help of firefighters, the local authorities and farmers who provided machinery, said the CMC.
