The Macedonian Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) strongly denies the misinformation placed in the public that the water from the Skopje water supply system is unsafe to drink due to the alleged presence of the bacterium Escherichia coli.
“As a responsible institution, we inform the public that AHV has not yet received a notification from the Skopje public utility company about an unsatisfactory result from laboratory testing of drinking water, which is their legal obligation, on the basis of which a ban on its use would be adopted,” said FVA, adding that citizens should not fear and that the water from the city water supply in Skopje is safe to drink and use.
