Macedonia is positioned among the fastest growing markets in Europe with a 40 percent increase in passenger arrivals in air traffic, as well as a significant increase in the number of tourists, which further confirms the potential for the development of new airlines, tourist arrangements and investments in the tourist infrastructure, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said at a meeting with the Corendon Tourism Group.

The focus of the meeting was the opportunities for achieving cooperation in the field of air traffic and tourism. At the meeting, Deputy PM Nikoloski emphasized the enormous potential of Macedonia as a tourist and air destination, especially in conditions of continuous growth in air traffic and an increased influx of foreign tourists.

It was also pointed out that better air connectivity and the opening of new markets and services are of particular importance for the continuous development of tourism and the number of new tourists in the country.

“Macedonia has great potential for the development of air traffic and tourism, and we are continuously proving this. 28 new destinations, a 40 percent increase in air traffic, and over 20 percent growth in tourists are a clear indicator that interest in Macedonia is growing. Our goal is to turn this trend into new airlines, more tourists and new investments, and we are open to cooperation,” Nikoloski noted.

Corendon is a prominent international tourism group and is among the three leading tour operators in the Netherlands and Belgium. The group offers package tours to more than 50 destinations.
