After yesterday’s first court hearing in the trial against Artan Grubi, serious questions are increasingly being raised about what was happening behind the scenes and the attempts to close this process through a plea bargain with the Prosecutor’s Office. Allegedly, Artan Grubi was persuaded to enter into a plea bargain with the Prosecutor’s Office. To accept guilt, to receive a much lighter sanction, but also to put an end to all ambitions to lead DUI, said the ruling VLEN on Tuesday.
“According to our sources, Ali Ahmeti estimated that the trial was very risky, because Grubi’s temperament is such that he can use the media to erode the DUI’s rating. Grubi even had interviews scheduled because he was assured that there would be no charges, and then he was unpleasantly surprised. The extension of the house arrest measure is additional pressure to make a deal before the trial begins. An interesting fact is that the lawyers of most of the defendants in this case are judicial “players” from the time of Gruevski and Mijalkov. This is a serious signal that DUI has let its guard down and is playing with all its weapons,” VLEN points out.
The party adds that the dilemma remains as to why the presence of Grubi’s first associate, Perparim Bajrami, is not being ensured.
