Fugitive Iva Mihajlova failed to appear in court as ordered; consequently, the Kochani Court received notification from the Ministry of Interior this morning that she was not at her home address.
Mihajlova has been appearing in Bulgarian media as of Monday, stating that she crossed the border legally and is set to begin medical treatment at the Pirogov Hospital.
Competent authorities only attempted to locate her at her home address today, and upon failing to find her, immediately notified the court.
“A prosecutor was notified this morning, and a motion to order detention was immediately submitted to the court, although the court could also have acted on its own initiative,” the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) said Tuesday.
