The capitulation of the mayor of Skopje to the mosquitoes shows all the incompetence of the mayor and the administration in running the city. The City of Skopje only this year will spend 67,291,140 denars for spraying against mosquitoes, i.e. one million and one hundred thousand euros and the effect is no and is a complete capitulation.
When Shilegov spends over one million euros for spraying against mosquitoes, and there is an infestation, it is called crime and waste, which must be held accountable, said the opposition VMRO-DPMNE in a statement.
“Shilegov spent over one million euros for an effect that is equal to zero. Article 353 of the Criminal Code is clear if the perpetrator of the crime by failing to exercise his authority and duty causes greater property damage or serious violation of the rights of another, it will be punished. Hence, even if Shilegov had the most honest intention, one million euros will be spent, and the effect is equal to zero, for which he must bear responsibility,” reads the statement.
