Eight consecutive quarters of growth in construction sector, says VMRO-DPMNE MP

When construction is underway, Macedonia moves forward! The figures for the construction sector reveal a clear contrast. Over the eight quarters from July 2024 to June 2026—based on calculations derived from State Statistics Office (SSO) data, the average quarterly real growth in construction reached +14.1%, with not a single quarter showing a decline, said VMRO-DPMNE MP Bojan Stojanoski on Friday.

“To compare – the average across the 29 quarters analyzed from the preceding period was -0.2%, a difference of 14.3 percentage points. In the second quarter of 2026, the construction sector recorded real growth of 21.9%, with particularly strong growth in civil engineering (infrastructure construction) at 48.9%. This is a significant difference. The primary drivers are infrastructure and capital projects, roads, corridors, and other major undertakings that create lasting value for the state,” noted the MP.

More construction sites, more capital projects, and greater value created, Stojanoski adds.

“Macedonia is being built once again—and this is reflected in the official figures,” underlined Stojanoski.
