By exerting pressure on the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia (NBRM) and Alta Bank, Filipche and SDS are creating conditions for a businessman close to them to purchase the bank at a low price, VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petrushevski told a press conference Tuesday.
“Filipche and SDSM’s plan has been uncovered. Their actions over the past few months were not driven by some ‘Serbian World’ agenda, but rather by the business interests of Filipche and his mentor Zaev. In the case of Alta Bank, the objective of Filipche and SDS is to incite panic and chaos within the banking sector, claiming the bank is on the verge of collapse and is illiquid, so that, subsequently, a business associate of Filipche and Zaev can acquire the shares at a bargain-basement price.
One of several pieces of evidence supporting this is yesterday’s press conference by the SDS General Secretary, Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj, who demanded that the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIOM) withhold pension payments to Alta Bank account holders, an act that constitutes a criminal offense under Article 315 of the Criminal Code.
They have been exposed. They care about nothing other than crime, money, and corruption. Therefore, we urge the citizens to remain calm. “As long as Mickoski is Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE is in power, there will be wage and pensions, and banks will not collapse,” said Petrushevski.
