The wages of Army and defense workers are set to increase by 10 percent as of January 1, 2027, Macedonian Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski said at a press conference Tuesday.
“Wages in the Army and the defense department are increasing by 10 percent. This represents the largest historic increase in absolute terms. It means an increase in the base salary, as well as in all components included in the total remuneration,” said Minister Misajlovski.
The defense minister pointed out that this progress was achieved through social dialogue and in cooperation with the trade unions.
“I have promised many times that I would work together with the trade unions and the Army to make this institution the best in the country. With this step, in terms of compensation, we are truly becoming one of the best institutions in the nation. Congratulations to all employees, they deserve this, and the Army deserves it. We are a NATO Army, and we have achieved this through social dialogue,” noted Misajlovski.
