Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced via a video message Monday evening that, as part of his visit to Germany, he and his government team held a series of business meetings on Tuesday.
In addition to discussions with Deutsche Telekom, which covered potential further investments in Macedonia, spanning not only the telecommunications market but also healthcare, smart technology, and other industrial sectors, the government team, led by Mickoski, also met with the German Chamber of Commerce.
According to the Prime Minister, economic cooperation with Germany is deepening, with the ultimate goal of securing more investment and achieving a higher GDP.
“Today in Bonn, we had a truly successful and, I would say, quite dynamic agenda. We began the day with meetings at Deutsche Telekom, a company that has been present in the Macedonian market for several decades. In our discussions today with the CEO of Deutsche Telekom, we addressed their potential additional investments in Macedonia, specifically within the telecommunications market—though our talks were not limited to that sector alone. We also discussed potential investments by Deutsche Telekom in other sectors, such as healthcare, smart technology, and various other industries, that would generate significant added value for the Macedonian economy. This would expand Deutsche Telekom’s presence not only in Macedonia but also throughout the region,” said Mickoski.
The PM added that he also held meetings with the German Chamber of Commerce.
“Many companies that already have investments in Macedonia were present, as well as others with ambitions to invest here. We discussed their experiences to date and how to make their existing investments more successful. At the same time, we talked about expanding their investments and operational capacities, which would, in turn, boost the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Macedonian economy,” Prime Minister Mickoski pointed out.
