The Veles Main Public Prosecutor’s Office (Veles PPO) issued an order to conduct an investigation against two people for a criminal offense – Unauthorized production and release into circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.
The suspects jointly carried out the illegal transport of about 65 kilograms of cannabis, and were discovered at the Stobi toll stop, near Gradsko.
The first suspect, a 38-year-old Skopje resident, was transporting the narcotics packed in four large black travel bags in a car with Skopje license plates. The second suspect, a 55-year-old resident of Kavadarci, in the role of a “cleaner” or a precursor with another vehicle, was tasked with warning of possible inspections.
At the toll stop, police officers noticed suspicious movement of the car containing the drugs, and the driver, upon being given a sign to stop for identification, fled at high speed towards Gradsko. However, the police managed to catch up with him and searched the vehicle, where they found the cannabis.
