The Bitola Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) issued an order to conduct an investigative procedure against a 36-year-old man who, from January to June 2026, has sexually abused a 12-year-old girl on several occasions, thus committing an extended offense – rape of a child under 15 years of age under Article 188, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
As the Public Prosecutor’s Office informs, they contacted and corresponded with the girl born in 2014 on social media, and in addition to sexually abusing her, he is also suspected of a crime – Showing pornographic material to a child under Article 193, paragraph 4 in connection with paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
Due to the danger of flight, the possibility that the suspect may repeat the crime, but also to influence the injured party and her testimony and other witnesses, the public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the pre-trial judge to determine a detention measure.
