Connectivity is the sole equation for greater economic growth, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in his address Tuesday at the Summit 2026 organized by Macedonia2025 held under the theme “Beyond 2025: Accelerating Growth. Inspiring Leadership”.
“We need to build the foundation, we don’t have it and that’s the essence. When you ask the question what the country’s advantage is – the only comparative advantage that we have with the competition in the region and in Europe is that we are a place of connection of two important European corridors – Corridor X and Corridor VII, that is, how to connect northern with southern Europe, that is, central Europe with the Mediterranean through the Aegean Sea, and the Adriatic and Ionian with the Black Sea through Corridor VIII. Everything else, if we measure it as a comparative advantage, you can find it with any competition in the region or in Europe. If we do that, then we can develop everything. We haven’t done that,” said PM Mickoski.
Presenting the activities for the construction of highways, railways, energy and gas connections, the PM stressed that the completion of these projects will be the first priority of the Government.
