Former Dojran Mayor Ango Angov, as well as an inspector and an officer in the Municipality of Dojran received criminal charges for abuse of office.

According to the charges, on April 29, 2024, they acted contrary to several legal regulations, including the Law on Proclamation of Dojran Lake as a Natural Monument, the Law on Waters and the Law on Construction.

The prime suspect, in his capacity as an authorized municipal inspector in the Municipality of Dojran, prepared a construction permit for a catering facility with hotel accommodation for an investor from Strumica, although the basic project lacked a mandatory water management consent.

The second suspect, employed as an independent officer in the field of urban planning and construction, controlled and approved the issued permit, despite the identified deficiencies.

The third suspect, who at that time held the position of mayor of the Municipality of Dojran, signed and issued the building permit, the Strumica Police Department informed in its report.
