The Protection and Rescue Directorate head Stojanche Angelov informed that a disaster was averted in the village of Bonche near Prilep, after a strong wind early Sunday morning carried the fire towards the settlement and the line of fire approached the houses.
According to Angelov, the fire descended towards the valley above the village at around 4 o’clock, making the situation extremely serious. Volunteer firefighters from Bitola and Kochani were engaged in extinguishing the fire, and additional assistance was requested from teams from Prilep and Kavadarci.
