A public prosecutor from the Skopje-based Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) has launched an investigation against the driver who blocked the path of a 19-year-old motorcyclist in Skopje’s Chair, and died from the force of the collision.
“The 31-year-old suspect was driving an Audi A4 car on Nikola Karev Boulevard Friday evening and when he reached the intersection with Prohor Pchinjski Street, he did not respect the traffic signals and entered both traffic lanes for vehicles from the opposite direction on a double solid line, turning left at the intersection. Also, contrary to the Law on Road Traffic Safety, he was driving the vehicle under the influence of narcotic drugs,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release.
By not complying with the regulations, the suspect knowingly endangered public safety, the release adds.
