Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, regarding the accusations from opposition leader Venko Filipche that the country is facing a difficult autumn in terms of energy and that higher electricity prices are expected, said that the electricity price has not increased and the Government is working on making it even more affordable.

“Look, I assume that they will continue to conduct politics in this way. Remember, they said that we would go bankrupt in 2024, but we did not go bankrupt. Then they said that we would definitely go bankrupt in 2025, we achieved the highest historical result and growth. Now they are spreading the same thesis that we will definitely go bankrupt in 2026, here I have bad news for them again, not only will we not go bankrupt, but they will see more and more projects like this one being implemented. And so by the end of this Government, and then after the next parliamentary elections, this Government will win and will be the Government again.

As for the comments, enough comment that, in the Government’s third year of its term, the price of electricity not only has not increased, but we are trying to find a formula to make it more affordable as of January. And during the time of the SDSM and DUI-led Government, it increased by a third, the price, I am talking about electricity. These are measurable and comparative results and numbers. We can compare based on that, and not on false political rhetoric,” underlined the Macedonian Prime Minister.
