The Financial Police Administration has filed criminal charges against Jani Makraduli, the former CEO of the joint-stock company Macedonian Post on suspicion of abuse of official position and authority.
The Financial Police Administration reported that between 2021 and 2022, the accused, acting in violation of the company’s Statute and the Law on Trade Companies, failed to implement decisions and conclusions made by the Board of Directors regarding the settlement of financial obligations to two legal entities, totaling MKD 19,292,984.00.
Although the necessary documentation for payment was provided to him, the accused did not sign the debt settlement agreement, failed to validate the invoices, and did not sign the payment orders.
By acting in this manner, he allowed legal proceedings to be initiated against the company, which resulted in court rulings mandating the payment of penalty interest. Consequently, the Macedonian Post incurred a total loss of MKD 10,968,483.00 in penalty interest, reads the press release by the Financial Police.
