Former director of the national broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) Marjan Cvetkovski has been elected director of the Skopje European Capital of Culture 2028 Foundation
The foundation, established by the City of Skopje, will manage all activities related to the implementation of the event, as well as the finances allocated for this project.
Cvetkovski served as director of MRT for 15 years, from 2012 to April this year, in three terms.
In September 2023, Skopje was awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2028, a European initiative for cultural cooperation. Skopje will share the title with the cities of České Budějovice in the Czech Republic and Bourges in France.
