The Ohrid Police Department reported that a gas leak occurred Friday morning from a tanker at a gas station located between the cities of Ohrid and Struga.
“On September 18, 2026, at 8:46 a.m., the Ohrid Police Department received a report of a gas valve malfunction at a gas station on the Ohrid-Struga motorway, resulting in a gas leak. Acting on the orders of a public prosecutor, police teams and the Ohrid Territorial Firefighting Unit inspected the site. It was determined that the gas was escaping through a flow valve from the fenced-off liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) installation area connected to an underground tank,” reads the police report.
Following intervention by an authorized technician, a new set of equipment was safely installed, adds the report.
