A police inspector employed by the Macedonian Ministry of Interior operated a police helicopter with a forged license for years. According to information, the aircraft was also used to transport high-ranking officials and ministers during that period.
The Internal Control Department of the Ministry of Interior filed criminal charges against N.A., chief pilot in the Department of Aviation Units, on suspicion of forgery of a document under Article 378, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
According to the charges, between February 27 and April 10, 2023, as the head of the Department of Aviation Units, the suspect illegally entered in his crew member’s license an authorization for an instructor for a TRI BELL 206 helicopter, although he did not meet the requirements. Allegedly, the authorization was shown as having been acquired on February 26, 2020.
The suspect used the forged authorization as valid before the Aviation Police Unit in Brnik, Slovenia, as well as in two administrative procedures before the Civil Aviation Agency, in order to have it entered into his civil license.
The case has been filed to the competent Prosecutor’s Office, which should decide on further proceedings.
