At a meeting of the German-Macedonian Joint Economic Steering Committee (JESCO), which was held at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Macedonia sent a clear message: the energy transformation is not a plan for the future, but a process that is already yielding results.

State Secretary GoranJovanovskiwith the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources participated as part of the official delegation, emphasizing in his presentation that the country is implementing a “decisive energy policy” based on two key priorities – accelerated decarbonization and secure, stable energy supply.

Jovanovskinoted that with the adoption of the new Energy Law in May 2025, the country has established a modern, transparent and fully compliant system with European standards, which provides predictability for investors and an end to market uncertainty.

“The state no longer follows the market – it creates its direction,” Jovanovskisaid, pointing out that with the introduction of systemic planning and annual plans for new energy capacities and storage, development becomes coordinated, predictable and strategically focused.

He added that “a strong investment cycle in renewables and energy storage is already underway, resulting in increased domestic production, reduced dependence on imports and enhanced energy independence.”
