Our biggest favorite for a medal is Dejan Georgievski, an Olympic medalist in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The Macedonian Olympic Committee (MOC), at the premises of the Jane Sandanski spots center, presented the delegation that will represent Macedonia at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy.

Some of the athletes, as well as the IOC head Daniel Dimevski, discussed the preparations, expectations and ambitions before the performances.

“We are going as prepared as possible. The IOC provided maximum logistical support. That means travel, accommodation, equipment and everything else that is called logistics. We have also hired a psychologist, as well as maximum professional recovery. The equipment with our national colors also has a logo that contains our flag, the MKD abbreviation, by which we will be very easily recognized. The IOC has made an effort to reach out to the youngest with a promotional campaign. I want to promote another new moment, and that is our Macedonian Olympic Diaspora. This body will take an active part in building a bridge to all our emigrants who feel Macedonia as their homeland and their children. I expect our athletes to present themselves in the best light,” said Dimevski.

Our biggest favorite for a medal is Dejan Georgievski, an Olympic medalist in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

“This is the third time for me at the Mediterranean Games. I have won silver and bronze, now we are going for gold. I expect all our athletes to give their maximum and to return with as many medals as possible,” said Georgievski.

The Macedonian delegation in Taranto, Italy will consist of 130 members, including 88 athletes who will compete in 19 out of a total of 33 sports. This is the largest Macedonian contingent ever at the Mediterranean Games.
