Macedonian airports are witnessing record growth in the number of passengers. In the first six months of 2026, two million passengers passed through both airports, which is an increase of over 30 percent compared to the same period last year, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said Friday.

“The numbers came out today and are excellent. We have two million passengers in six months this year, which is an increase of over 30 percent compared to last year. When this Government was elected, we had just over two million passengers annually, and now we have two million passengers in just half a year,” Deputy PM Nikoloski said, and recalled that last year the threshold of three million passengers was exceeded for the first time, and expectations are that a new record will be set this year.
The Deputy PM notes that both Skopje International Airport and the St. Paul the Apostle Airport in Ohrid are among the fastest growing airports in the region, and this trend, according to Nikoloski, will continue in the coming period.
