The group of Macedonian nationals evacuated from Israel arrived in Skopje on a government plane Thursday evening , after they were previously transported via Egypt in a complex operation organized with the help of diplomatic and consular missions.
The passengers were welcomed at the Skopje airport by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski, who informed that the evacuation was completely organized by the Macedonian Embassy.
“The first group of our fellow citizens from Israel, who were evacuated via Egypt, arrived tonight. Their transportation was completely organized by our Embassy. There are still seven citizens remaining in Israel who are currently not considering evacuation, that is, they are waiting for the airspace to be cleared and possibly return later on a private flight through a private company,” said Dimitrovski.
The deputy FM notes that the institutions are making efforts to transport all Macedonian nationals who want to return to the country by Monday at the latest.
Dimitrovski also informs that there are currently around 600 Macedonian nationals in the Gulf countries, the largest number of whom are in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, around 140 in Qatar, and a smaller number in Bahrain and Kuwait.
