Mala Prespa is proof that borders can divide territories, but they cannot erase language, culture and a sense of belonging, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in a social media post as the patron of the Macedonian folklore festival Prespa, which is being held Friday at the “Goce Delchev” square in Pustec, organized by the Macedonian Association “Prespa”, the “VMRO DPMNE Albania” Association and the Municipality of Pustec.
“With particular honor today I am among the Macedonians from Mala Prespa and as the patron of the festival I send the message that Macedonia is with you. We will continue to strengthen cooperation and support for the Macedonian language, culture and tradition, because our heritage is not just a memory of the past, but a treasure that we are building for future generations. May the Macedonian word last, may the Macedonian song last, may the connection between Macedonia and the Macedonians from Mala Prespa persevere,” reads the PM’s post.
