On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day on May 3, the Macedonian Association of Journalists (MAN) encourages all professional press to continue on the path of truth.
“For decades, we have witnessed violence, pressure, threats, blackmail from SDSM, which, with its installations in the judicial system, carries out political persecution against all professional and independent media.
The year between the two World Press Freedom Days, journalists and media workers in Macedonia will remember for the record number of threats, insults and pressure on colleagues, almost all of which went unpunished.
The Macedonian Association of Journalists registered 142 cases of threats against journalists in 2025, 80 more than the previous year.
