It’s been almost two years since I’ve taken the Prime Minister’s post, of course it’s not easy to manage a situation in which you have to manage things that you as a person may not have experienced or influenced to happen, but they happened and you have to manage them, because if you do not manage them and give up then the problem will get even bigger. And that is perhaps the greatest challenge to manage the burden of the past, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said in response to a question about the main challenges in the two years of his term during the 2026 Summit organized by Macedonia 2025.
“Success is measurable if we speak empirically, if you do not create new problems in your time, because this time of yours will also end one day and you will leave politics and not leave such problems to the generations to come. And the skill to solve much of that burden from the past will make you more or less successful. That is the essence,” Mickoski underlined.
“We have six quarters in a row as a Government with 3.5 percent, over 3.5 percent real growth due to the deflator, otherwise, the nominal is over 7.5 percent. This year, according to the International Monetary Fund, we will reach a nominal GDP of approximately USD 22 billion. The nominal gross domestic product has increased three times more in two years than compared to the period 2018-2023 in six years,” PM Mickoski added.
