The scandal with the broadcast of a children’s song on MRT 2 in Albanian, in which “Greater Albania” is being mentioned, as well as the responsibility for it, will be the topic of a session of the MRT Program Council scheduled for Thursday.
As part of a children’s festival program broadcast on March 28, a performance by a 13-year-old girl who performed the song “Trojet shqiptare” was emitted. The content of the song and the symbols (a map of “Greater Albania”) used during the performance caused a stormy reaction in the public.
According to the lyrics of the song, it openly sang about territorial claims towards Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, etc. “Fly, fly, Albania, fly, our flag rises above the earth”, “the day will come when we will all be together, because we are one people, one dream, one goal”… were part of the lyrics with a clear message for the unification of Albanian territories.
Earlier, MRT director Marjan Cvetkovski indicated that it was being determined how such content passed through the program filters and who gave the green light for its broadcast.
