Starting Monday, June 15, drivers that pass through toll booths on Macedonian highways should pay attention to the new collection rules.
According to information from the Public Enterprise for State Roads, the lanes marked for the MTAG system will now be intended exclusively for vehicles that pay with electronic tags.
This eliminates the previous possibility for drivers who pay with MCard cards to use these lanes.
This means that MCard users will now have to pay through the remaining toll lanes, in accordance with their purpose and traffic markings.
The authorities expect the new regime to contribute to faster vehicle flow and more efficient collection during the period when traffic frequency traditionally increases due to the summer holidays.
