With today’s signing of these amendments to the financing agreements and the grant agreement, we are providing a financial structure that will enable the full implementation of the project, the third section of the Corridor VIII railway, KrivaPalanka-border with the Republic of Bulgaria, which will not only provide better connectivity between the Adriatic and Black Seas, but will also contribute to greater economic integration, easier movement of people and goods, as well as new opportunities for the development of the Macedonian economy and the entire region, said Macedonian Finance Minister GordanaDimitrieska-Kochoskathe signing of the agreements, which was also attended by Prime Minister HristijanMickoski.
The minister says that in this way the Government is creating conditions for the smooth continuation of the implementation of one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country.
“The funds for the implementation of the third section are provided with support from our long-standing partners, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. These institutions have been among the most significant supporters of development projects in our country for years, investing in transport infrastructure, energy, water supply and in support of the private sector,” the minister added.
Pointing out that the adopted Budget Rebalance provides 14.3% more funds for capital expenditures, she stated that these are investments in higher competitiveness of the Macedonian economy, in better regional connectivity, in new opportunities for business and in a higher standard of living for citizens.
