It’s a huge success for our Government and diplomacy. After the strategic agreement we signed with the United Kingdom, this is the second serious agreement in sight that will have a huge benefit for Macedonia as a country because it positions it on a serious map in the world, but also in the joint statement with the White House itself it is written that the most strategic partner of the United States in the Balkans and in this region is Macedonia, which means a lot for potential investors, the economic climate for the country, but also for the international position of Macedonia, MP from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE Brane Petrushevski told a press briefing on Saturday.
The MP referred to the reciprocal trade agreement with the US, which will provide tariffs no higher than 15%, and for certain products and industries up to 0%. He added that the deepening of the strategic partnership with the U.S. will open new economic perspectives for Macedonia.
“This agreement provides serious benefits, above all, what is most important for the citizens is that we have a double profit, that is, the products that the United States will export to Macedonia will be cheaper because there will be no customs duties and the citizens will have cheaper products,” said Petrushevski.
