Customs officers at the Bogorodica border crossing seized seven young snakes, along with one lizard, after the reptiles were discovered during a vehicle inspection involving a Kosovo national, in cooperation with police officers.
Intending to illegally bring them into the country, the individual had hidden the snakes, which were packed in boxes and scarves, under the seat. The animals are primarily protected species, including two Morelia spilota (carpet pythons), one short-tailed python, one Bredl’s carpet python, one Chinese rat snake, and a reticulated super dwarf python. Additionally, the seized reptiles include a venomous Baron’s racer.
