Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, the management of the railway companies Transport and Infrastructureand their employees, this morning, accompanied by the media, set off with the City Train from the railway station in Zelenikovo towards Skopje.
The symbolic journey is on the occasion of the official promotion of the City Train project on the first of the three planned lines that will run from Zelenikovo – Novo Zelenikovo – Oreshani – Jane Sandanski – Drachevo – Lisiche and the Skopje Railway Station.
The City Train project is an idea of this Government with the aim of providing the citizens of Skopje, both from the suburbs and from the central part, with faster, more efficient and more accessible public urban transport. The goal is to connect the peripheral parts of Skopje with the central area of the city, which will mean cheaper travel, shorter travel, less waiting and faster public transport.
Railways Infrastructure for the needs of the City Train project carried out a complete reconstruction of the railway line in order to raise the level and speed capacity of this route.
