Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski laid fresh flowers in St. Spas church’s yard where the central event marking the 154th anniversary of the birth of Macedonian revolutionary Goce Delchev took place on Wednesday. The PM urged Delchev’s legacy to be observed and remembered and “let us be an example of how to keep building our common homeland Macedonia.

“His fight for an independent Macedonian state, for a country in the heart of the Balkans, I would say is epic, unfortunately he lost his life at the young age of 31, he had a lot more to say if he had lived, but unfortunately he did not manage to survive for more than 31 years and lay down his life again with the ideals of the Macedonian state. So, once again today, let us remember his character and work, let’s honor and remember him and let this be an example for us how we should continue to build our common homeland Macedonia,” PM Mickoski underlined.
