I feel an obligation and responsibility to inform the public as a Government that we are continuously monitoring the situation on the energy markets and conducting our own analyses. In addition to the analyses, of course, calculations are also included in order to timely predict the movements in the prices of diesel fuel and gasoline. In line with the calculations that we made yesterday after the stock exchanges closed, and after analyzing the movements of oil and oil derivatives on the stock exchanges in the past week, we made a calculation and an estimate, and based on it, we expect a decision to be made at the next session of the Energy Regulatory Commission, which will reduce the prices of diesel fuel, i.e. gasoline, as follows: Eurosuper 95 and Eurosuper 98 will be reduced by 1.5 denars, while diesel fuel will be reduced by 2.5 denars, said Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in a press release.
“We expect the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to make a decision that will reduce prices, which means that 95-octane gasoline would be around 82 denars per liter, and diesel around 95.5 denars,” said Mickoski.
He points out that these calculations do not include additional discounts provided by certain companies, which means that the actual prices could be even lower.
The PM notes that the country has sufficient quantities of oil and oil derivatives and that the supply is stable, despite the increased consumption, which, according to him, on certain days reaches up to 30 percent more than the average.
According to PM Mickoski, the Government will continue with policies to mitigate price shocks, announcing further analyses and possible measures in the coming period.
