PM Mickoski: Government to provide compensation to citizens who reported storm damages

Citizens who suffered damage from the storm should report it to the municipal commissions, after which the government will act in accordance with legal procedures and provide compensation, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday.

“As for the compensation of citizens who suffered damage from the storm that occurred Tuesday, I can only say that the municipalities and institutions under the municipalities form commissions. Citizens who have suffered damage should report that damage to the commissions. They will make an assessment and then submit it to the Government’s Damage Assessment Committee, and we, in line with the law and practice, will intervene and compensate those citizens who report damage. I appeal to the citizens who have suffered damage to report it, so that a commission could come out to determine it and for us as the Government to receive a specification of that damage, so that we can compensate them,” said the Macedonian PM.
