During his working visit to the United States, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski, accompanied by a government delegation, held a series of meetings in Washington with representatives from U.S, institutions, Congress, as well as the business sector.

The discussions focused on deepening the strategic partnership between Macedonia and the US, as well as opening up concrete opportunities for new investments and economic cooperation.

Particular attention was drawn to the meeting with Caroline Vik, Chief Policy Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The meeting explored potential investment opportunities in Macedonia, with a special emphasis on energy, high-tech industries, modern infrastructure, and other strategic sectors.

The visit to Washington also included a series of political meetings with U.S. members of Congress.

PM Mickoski met with Congressman Keith Self, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe within the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Discussions covered the strategic partnership between the two countries, shared interests, and opportunities to further deepen cooperation.

A meeting was also held with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Co-Chair of the Macedonia Friendship Group in the U.S. Congress. It highlighted the significance of the traditionally friendly relations between Macedonia and the US, as well as the importance of parliamentary cooperation, political dialogue, and the exchange of experiences.

The Government notes that the series of meetings in Washington is part of efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United States and translate it into concrete economic cooperation, new investments, and projects of interest to Macedonia.

The working visit to the United States continues with Mickoski’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where meetings with several world leaders are also scheduled.
