I insist that the report is released, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoskisaid in response to SDSM’s accusations over the failure to make the analysis of the Gostivar water quality available to the public.

PM Mickoski was quizzed about the criminal charges pressed by opposition parties against the health minister and the directors of the public health institute and the health and sanitary inspectorate, saying it is a democratic right of any political party to do this.

“Nevertheless, I am baffled by the fact that SDSM has not even mentioned the Gostivar mayor in all of this. Of course they will not mention him because they supported him at the recent local elections. Everyone knows that the municipal utility enterprise is in charge of the town’s water supply system. The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Interior have already detained three individuals, the investigation is ongoing and it will determine if other people were implicated in the case,” Mickoski told reporters.

The PM also voiced his disbelief as to why SDSM did not press charges when past reports showed that the water quality in Gostivar, Prilep, Krushevo and other places was not up to the standards.

“We, on the other hand, undertook robust action of cleaning the system and then handed it back to the Gostivar public utility enterprise,” added Mickoski.
