Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met Sunday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in New York and highlighted the importance of their meeting for strengthening Macedonian-American ties even further.
As Mickoski said in a social media post, the discussions reaffirm the importance of the strategic partnership and the ongoing political dialogue between Macedonia and the United States.
“Direct communication at a high political level is an important opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest, deepen bilateral relations, and further strengthen our position as a stable and reliable ally,” the Prime Minister wrote.
In his post, Mickoski also addressed the current geopolitical context, noting that strong partnerships and open dialogue with strategic allies are of particular importance during a period of serious challenges.
The PM notes that Macedonia has clearly defined national interests and continues to uphold them “with dignity and on principle” in cooperation with its strategic partners.
“We continue to strengthen the Macedonian-American strategic partnership and create new opportunities,” added PM Mickoski.
