PM Mickoski says he’s ready if opposition thinks snap elections are necessary

Citizens are not asking for elections but reforms. If the opposition thinks snap elections are necessary, we will respond to that request positively and, of course, we will beat them, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters Thursday.

Citizens are not asking for elections but reforms. If the opposition thinks snap elections are necessary, we will respond to that request positively and, of course, we will beat them, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters Thursday.

“Citizens do not want elections, citizens want reforms and continuity of the processes being led by this government,” said Mickoski, repeating the “three to one” comparison in relation to, as he stated, the performances of the current and previous governments.

However, the PM adds that if the opposition believes that early elections should be held, the government is ready to face such a challenge.

“As a coalition, we have received legitimacy from the citizens to be the government for four years. However, if the opposition thinks that early elections are needed, we will not sit on the sidelines like cowards, but will respond to that request positively and, of course, we will defeat them,” said PM Mickoski.
