The Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) confirmed that the death of the woman whose body was found near the village of Letevci was violent. Her ex-husband is under suspicion of the murder, who is now in detention, while three other people have been arrested in connection with the case.
A public prosecutor on duty from the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, together with teams from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Saturday night inspected a difficult-to-access forest location near the village of Letevci, where the lifeless body of a woman from the Skopje’s Taor was found.
Police arrested S.G. (51), from Taor on Sunday, due to grounds for suspicion that he murdered 48-year-old Z.G., the MoI informed the media.
“On June 26, 2026, S.G. reported to the police station that Z.G., with whom he lived in the same house, was missing, and the next day he reported that he had found Z.G. deceased near the village of Letevci, Skopje region.
Police officers and a public prosecutor arrived at the scene, after which the body, which was in a state of decomposition, was handed over to forensic medicine for an autopsy by order of the public prosecutor. An official interview was conducted with S.G. and he was arrested, and in connection with the case, Z.M. (62), G.B. (64) and M.D. (69) were also arrested,” the Ministry of Interior reported.
