The Gostivar Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) issued an order to initiate an investigative procedure against a Gostivar resident (28), charging him with rape of a child under 15 years of age, as well as misuse of another’s recording, photograph, audio recording or document with sexually explicit content.

This is the case of a raped girl in Gostivar, about which the Ministry of Interior (MoI) issued a statement Saturday.

The 28-year-old suspect, an elementary school employee, persuaded the 14-year-old girl to send him her photos and videos with sexually explicit content, and then blackmailed her by saying that he would publish them if she did not go out with him.

The child victim agreed to meet, after which the suspect took her to a house in the Gostivar region where he sexually assaulted her, a crime punishable by at least 8 years in prison.

This month, he tried to blackmail her again to meet, but the girl refused, after which he posted the explicit photos and videos he had on social media.

By doing so, he made them available to other people, thus fulfilling the essence of the second crime that was introduced in February 2026 and which carries a prison sentence of 3 to 10 years, according to the statement from the PPO.

The public prosecutor forwarded a proposal to the judge in the preliminary proceedings to determine a detention measure for the suspect.

Macedonia on Saturday was horrified by three cases of sexual child abuse in one day.
