Opposition MP Venko Filipche needs to explain why he has remained silent until now and failed to report the €37 million military helicopter procurement scandal involving Slavjanka Petrovska to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petrushevski told a press briefing Tuesday.
“Did the falling out between these two SDSM MPs, who are also former government officials, prompt MP Filipche to speak up about what he describes as a €37 million scandal involving MP Slavjanka Petrovska during her term as Minister of Defense? If Filipche knew about this but failed to report it, he has committed a criminal offense, yet again,” said Petrushevski.
Failure to report a crime or a perpetrator is a punishable offense under Article 364 of the Criminal Code for anyone who knowingly fails to report a crime, Petrushevski adds.
“Given that Filipche has publicly spoken about a crime committed by Petrovska, we call upon the Public Prosecutor’s Office to summon him for questioning and to disclose all information he possesses regarding this case,” ruling party MP Petrushevski pointed out.
