Macedonian Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski in an interview with 360 Degrees announced a new development in the “Mazut” case. This is about the investigative procedure that lasted more than a year, until the moment when two weeks ago the competent prosecutor Katerina Kolarevikj decided to close it.
Thirteen people were suspected in the case, including businessmen Ratko Kapushevski, Asmir Jahoski and Erdzan Sulkoski, the ex-director of ESM Vasko Kovachevski, as well as and others, for abuse of office and money laundering.
Prosecutor Kolarevikj stated that the evidence collected in the investigation allegedly did not support filing an indictment that would stand up in court. The Minister of Interior, however, said in the interview that his findings were different.
“Because I know some evidence that you don’t know, and you can’t know it. I know it because I have to know it. But you and the entire Macedonian public will be shocked when the time comes to be shocked, but in a positive way. And I claim that day will come. Because if we let such actions be closed like this, then I shouldn’t be doing what I’m doing right now. Nor should any of those who work within the Ministry of Interior and especially in the Public Prosecutor’s Office be where they are. They should leave. New people should come, if for this case with the evidence that I have personally seen, the story remains as it is,” said Interior Minister Toshkovski.
