The opposition SDSM announced that it will not participate in the meeting of opposition parties initiated by Levica related to the Electoral Code. According to the largest opposition parliamentary party, the reason is that it is a pre-planned scenario and an order from the leader of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE, PM HristijanMickoski.
“Is he a school teacher who thinks he could call the opposition whenever he wants? Should we play his game and make theater for him and the public? SDSM has already given its clear and concrete proposals in the Parliament. There is no need for new proposals. They guarantee fair and transparent elections and prevent the possibility of electoral theft, especially of votes from the diaspora. Everything else is a show,” said the Social Democrats.
According to SDSM, this is a textbook attempt by Prime Minister Mickoski, “through his satellites to create the illusion that the opposition is blocking the reform of the Electoral Code.”
“But the truth is the opposite. Mickoski is the one who wants a law that will allow votes to be stolen from the diaspora. He is the one who wants to impose his model of electoral manipulation. SDSM will not participate in this show. We will not be Mickoski’s alibi. We will not gather to do him a favor in his campaign for early elections,” added the main opposition party.
