With the initiation of a procedure for his expulsion from SDSM, former Skopje Mayor PetreShilegovsays that his claims that the current leadership of the largest opposition party is “working in tune” for VMRO-DPMNE and the interests of the ruling party, and not for SDSM and its membership, have been confirmed.
According to Shilegov, the current SDSM leadership is doing this so as not to be subject to possible criminal investigations.
“I said that it is obvious that there is an agreement that stipulates that SDSM will be in the state it is in, to persistently miss the issues and allow VMRO-DPMNE to win two mandates, at the expense of not being subject to possible investigations and criminal prosecutions,”Shilegov said on Tuesday after the trial for the KochaniPulse nightclubfire where he represents some of the defendants.
Shilegov says that it has also been proven that the party is completely depleted in terms of staff and that the people to whom SDSM means something, and who are, as he says, a serious factor in the country, are no longer there. According to the former member, the initiative for his expulsion from SDSM was adopted contrary to the party’s statute.
