Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced that the field procedures for the BRT project will begin in 2027, and before that there will be a procurement of over 100 new buses for the renewal of public transport.
“For the BRT, first of all, I am very glad that we finally unblocked the process with the EBRD. It has been a painstaking work for the past more than three months, as long as I have been mayor of the city of Skopje. I believe that somewhere in the second half of this calendar year we will start tendering for that procedure. It is a serious project for the city of Skopje that will generally solve these traffic jams that we have, which are related to the operation of buses on the routes currently in the city of Skopje,” Gjorgjievski said in an interview with Radio Free Europe.
The capital’s mayor says about the new Luna Park that it will be an amusement park that will be for all ages.
“Finally, Skopje will get a Luna (Amusement) Park and as I promised the citizens, I am deeply convinced that the procedure will succeed, the tender procedure is in the final phase. I believe that a serious contractor will be selected and that by June 2027 we will be able to have a grand opening. Our children will finally get a place where they will build memories and have a happy childhood,” said Mayor Gjorgjievski.
